Back Taxes

The prosecutor is required by statute to assist the Missouri Department of Revenue in the collection of past-due taxes and to the State of Missouri. If you receive a letter from us concerning past-due taxes and you wish to pay them, we can enter into a payment plan with you.
Some special benefits accrue to your county if you pay your back taxes through our office. One of the most important benefits is that 25% of what you pay stays in Vernon County to help fund the office of prosecuting attorney. We use the money to pay salaries, for training and for office expenses.
