Welcome to
the Office of the Public Administrator for Vernon County, Missouri. I am
your Public Administrator Virginia Habjan.
The Public Administrator is an elected
official of the county, who is appointed as guardian and
conservator for persons who are judged incompetent by the
probate court. The persons served are developmentally disabled
adults and mentally ill, as well as the elderly. Another term
sometimes used is a public guardian. The Public Administrator
manages financial responsibilities as well as physical health
needs of persons assigned.
The office hours generally run 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through
Friday. The Public Administrator is on call 24 hours a days and
will arrange for coverage when needed. Calls to the office will
be answered by machine when the Public Administrator is out
working in the county
