Sheriff's Warning!    

      The Vernon county Sheriff's Office is warning people to watch out for signs of discarded methamphetamine labs this summer. With summer approaching and more outdoor activities taking place the likelihood increases that citizens may encounter a discarded drug lab. Indications are that many illegal drug manufacturers are turning to portable, disposable labs in an effort avoid detection. Discarded drug labs might be found in ditches, fields or other out-of-the way places.

• Soda bottles with tubing attached.
• Soda bottles with liquid or crystals in it.
• Large quantity of over-the-counter cold and allergy medication wrappers
• Acetone
• Lye
• Draino
• Starter Fluid
• Lithium Type Batteries
   

1. DO NOT TOUCH IT! Drug labs contain hazardous chemicals and can be potentially harmful to your health. The drug lab should be treated as a crime scene and left alone until the proper authorities arrive.
2. Call the Sheriff's Office at once for proper investigation and disposal.
